According to the National Bank of Georgia's Regulation on Payment Cards, effective from 1 June 2021, when applying for a new payment card or card renewal/replacement, customers must indicate whether or not they wish to use their payment cards at high-risk merchants. Currently, ‘high-risk merchant' refers to gambling facilities. When applying for a new payment card or card renewal/replacement, Customers may express their wish regarding the use of their payment cards at high-risk merchants in a bank branch or via hotline. Customers may change their decision regarding the use of their current payment card at high-risk merchants by visiting a bank branch or calling the hotline.
